I am still stuck here in Abilene. Work is going slow as I have not found me a good helper as of yet. Pictured is my new ride. I was not thinking about a new truck as my 2012 250 was just fine. But I had a chance to sell it for a good price , and so there you go , I ended up with a 2015 250 . This trip up here to Abilene is an extended one as I have three more homes to remodel . After this trip I will be freed up to do more guiding. I will be here in Abilene until the 14th of Sept . The fishing has really picked up on Falcon as I have had a few friends down there , and they did very well. Sugar lake is also really good on the bigger bite once you figure out where you can offer your bait without a 2 pounder jumping on it. I just wish there was some kind of limit control on Sugar. James emailed me a picture of some locals on sugar lake and they had about 100, 2 to 5 pounders on a stringer dead in the bottom of their boat. To make things worse , there are three or four of these local fisherman that are on the lake every day doing this over and over and over again. They have no since as to conserve this great fishery for the future. It is against Mex law to harvest and sell bass in Mex , but they have no one to keep them from doing that. I have seen these boats every day on the water and have watched them string up every fish they catch. I just wish there was something we could do. With both Falcon and Sugar this year with very good water levels and a great amount of small fish in them , our future is looking great for years to come.

Back from Sugar Lake . I had Jimmy and Gary for a great two day trip on Sugar lake. We caught so many fish in two days that I lost count. I am getting a few things figured out on Sugar , so that we can get a bigger bite , and I just think the big girls were eating better these two days as well. Sugar is still flowing over the spillway , but she is dropping a little and that will help the fish settle in. We caught all our fish on the Tex rig and big plastics. We had a bunch more fish this time in the 4 to 5 pound range that are not pictured and of course we caught a butt load of little guys as well. I had to cancel my four trips the rest of this week as I have had a thief get into my belongings back in Abilene , so I have to go take care of that. Let me tell you , you can not trust anyone anymore. Let’s just say that I have to find a new helper as well. I will be back shortly and all my trips coming up except a few are on Sugar and I can not wait.

Just got back from Sugar Lake. I had Mark and Bob for two days on Sugar and both the weather and the fishing was hot. We did not get a DD but we caught some damn nice fish. The numbers are just crazy over there as we boated 183 fish in two days and today was a short day. the majority are just 1 to 3 pounders , but we would stick a good one every once and a while. Yesterday Bob caught a 8 lb 7 oz on his second cast on Sugar. Today I was a little more dialed in on a bigger bite and we caught several more 4 and 5 pounders not pictured. The air temp was 106 yesterday and 107 today and the water temp was 86 to 91 . I am off tomorrow and will be back over to Sugar Friday for a three day trip. We caught fish on Cranks and Texas Rig big plastics.
