As promised I would post about my Sugar Lake trip when I got back today. We caught two really bad weather days . Both days we had a little window where the north wind was not too bad and we capitalized on both of them . We boated 37 fish in the two windows of light wind . Almost every fish we caught was quality . Out of 37 fish we had two fish under 4 pounds. This lake is an awesome fishery and I am yet to hit it with good weather. North wind is near imposable and that is what we had for two day. We had about 3 hours Monday late in the day and had about 3 hours this morning that we could go where I wanted to go. I still have some open days in May and June for Sugar Trips. Now is the time to go. Surely we are done with the north wind . I think I said this two weeks ago when I was on Sugar Lake and we got hit with hard North winds.

Sunday, April 27th, 2014I took this weekend off , due to the Bass Champs Tournament and getting ready for Sugar Lake come Monday. Bass Champs had a rough go of it this tournament with only 115 teams fishing. It took 22 pounds to win it and they had nearly a 10 pounder that helped that much so. My friend Wally came in 7th with nearly 15 pounds and 8th place was only 11 pounds. There were a bunch of the pack with 10 pounds and it only took a little over 10 pounds to get a check. Wow !!!!!!! As for my Sugar trip Monday and Tuesday , I will post a report on Tuesday night , so be watching to see how we do. There is going to be a little front hit , but I do not expect it to blow us off the lake like Monday two weeks ago. I just had a few days open up in May due to a last min cancelation. May 8, 9, 10, That is a Thur, Fri, Sat. Also I need to plug my Peacock Bass Trip I am hosting come Jan. I have the first week full and 7 spots left to fill on the second week. This is a trip of a lifetime and the best trip that I have ever been on. Email me or call me about it , I would love for you to go and experience it like I have. Also I have several dates open on the Bass Shack here on Falcon , if you are coming to Falcon , it is the best place for 2 to 6 people to stay. This place has everything to make your stay the best . Rates and description on this site under lodging. Back to a little info about Falcon. We are sitting today at 275.63 this is the lowest we have been since Jan 17, 2014, as it was also 275.63 that day. The highest we have been this year is 276.97 so we have been within a foot or so level wise all year. Now we are starting to drop pretty good. This is going to help the fishing as it will pull the fish out of all the cover and on to structure. I have already seen the numbers of small fish picking up and there is a few big fish mixed in as well. We have keep a very good level for our spawn and the longer the lake stays up the better the fry will have a chance to survive. The very best thing for this lake right now is if we could fill up this summer. If we did this lake would cycle up faster than you could believe. I have see it happen here over and over again. That is why Falcon is Falcon. See you Tuesday , LOOK FOR MY SUGAR LAKE REPORT.

Saturday, April 26th, 2014Took out Jim and Becky today. We caught a pretty day to be on the water, and the fish were biting . The only problem is that we did not put that many in the boat. Jim had not fished for bass , with a Texas Rig and Becky had not fished much as well. I have so0me numbers of fish in some places , and man were they biting. Becky started to get the hang of it and she boated six for the day. Jim had a little more trouble , but had a ton of bites and put two in the boat. I really enjoyed the two and hope they come back.

Thursday, April 24th, 2014Out with Donald and Mike today. I had these two last Oct and we were whacking them on the blades. This time was going to be different. The forecast was to be light winds and we had that for most of the day and I was glad to see that the heat and nice day that my deep bite had returned . We had a fair day and caught several fish including three nice ones . The biggest would go about 8 pounds and had one eye and beat to hell. In fact Mike caught both of his best fish on back to back cast. Now that has not happened in a while. What was funny about this is that Donald had a conference call at 11 am sharp and I pulled up on a spot at 11 am and while Donald was on the phone Mike caught these two pictured and Donald could not get off the phone. It was sure nice to catch some good fish today. Heat = Deep

Thursday, April 24th, 2014I did get on the water today. I took out Ron and Rowland today. We got off to a very late start as Rowland was late getting off of work. Anyway we finally got on the water about 10 am. I have had a big bite most of the time on a spot or two early , well we missed that . I knew the wind was to chime in so we stayed north , and glad we did as it got rough out there after lunch. Ron saved the day by putting a fish in the boat. That fish was the only one we boated the rest of the day. Rowland did have one on the crank, but she came off before he could get her in. I will have Ron again next month. We will have some revenge on them then. My Sugar Lake trips are looking good , but I still have a few days left in May to fill and several in June. I will be on Sugar The 28th and 29th so watch for my report. I see big good things for big fish at Sugar this summer. Falcon should get better as well as its looks like we are finally going to get some hot weather.

Sunday, April 20th, 2014Well just finished up with 4 straight days on the water for Tournament clients. To tell you the truth I am glad that 19 day run is done. I am going to take the next two days off as I have had a long stretch and need the time off to get some other things done. I had three different teams to get ready for the tournament and I wish them well , and I think they will all do that. I have a 14 day stretch after my two day break and 4 of them days will be on Sugar lake , the 28th and 29th , and May 1st and 2nd. I am looking forward to all 14 days both Falcon and Sugar. So that means I will fish 10 day on Falcon and 4 days on Sugar. this will give you an idea as to Sugar compared to Falcon. I know both lakes like the back of my hand so we will see. Sugar lake has less pressure and is full, Falcon is 24 foot low and more pressure. The long term forecast is for it to be hot and this will help a bunch on both lakes, the hotter the better. I still have a few spots open in May for Falcon or Sugar trips . May really starts the season I like on Falcon and Sugar , the hotter the better .

Friday, April 18th, 2014If you are wondering about my no report yesterday. I had Bass Champs guys yesterday, today and again Sat and Sun. I usually do not report on the trips due to request from the anglers. I usually just show them spots and a cast or to for the line up and after that we spend the day scouting new water but the same pattern and let them make the choice on the where and when they want to fish the spots. If you want to know did we catch fish , yes but not very many. My guys usually do very well in the tournament and I expect these three teams will do well. Falcon is tough , but there are some big fish to be had and someone will get on them. I think it will take 21 to 23 pounds to win this one a little down from the last one.

Well back on Falcon today. I took out David and Dafana today, and yes I spelled her name right. We got off to a great start as Dafana caught this nice fish on her very first cast of the day. It took David a little more time but he put a good one in the boat early as well. After that the wind just started kicking our tails and we had to go to more protected stuff, we still caught some fish but they were all small at that point. David did break off a nice fish , but we do not know how good as she never showed herself. I am sure ready for a break in the wind we have had for more than a week now.

Tuesday, April 15th, 2014Well I just got back from a Sugar Lake trip. Although we hit the worst weather you could hit in Mid April we still caught some really nice fish including an 11 lb 3 oz by Darrell . You should not need me to tell you what fish it is in the pictures. Jeff had his share of nice fish as well. We were blown off the water the first day at noon and today the north wind was still kicking , but we braved it out there anyway. I never got to cross the lake and fish some of my good stuff west. This lake is really set to be a great year. As posted earlier I plan on doing Sugar Trips starting in May. By then we should not have to deal with a cold front with 30 plus winds like we had. I forgot to mention that Darrell got his ass handed to him on really big fish before he finally landed his trophy . The rooms were great and the food was even better . Even though the weather was bad we had a blast.

Sunday, April 13th, 2014I will be fishing Sugar Lake Monday and Tuesday . The weather looks a little dicey due to a major front hitting Monday around noon. It is what it is and we will just deal with it. I will make a post when I get back on Tuesday night, so look for it as I know you want to see how it is. As stated in an earlier report I will start my guide trips to Sugar Lake in May. By May we should not have to deal with cold fronts LOL. I have fished Sugar for years and I like it the best May thru Sept . Even with us going a little earlier than that this time , and the weather looking not so good I still expect us to catch some really big fish and a good numbers as well. North wind is not good on any lake , but Sugar has some protection if we need it. Let you know when I get back.
