It is Thanksgiving day and Sheretta and I are with Family and 5 of our seven grandkids , pictured. It is still a little cold here in Sherman for my liking n, but with a little better day tomorrow and Thanksgiving over , I am going to hit the golf course with Chris and Ty my Son in laws . Sat I plan on hitting lake Texoma and Ray Roberts Monday before I hit the road to Sam Rayburn Tuesday. I will meet up with my partner Billy At Rayburn and we will hit the lake hard for our two practice days. Looks like the warm weather has returned to Falcon and I know of one guy that fished it today caught some really nice fish . I see nothing but Falcon getting better and better as long as it stays warm. I post again when I get some news .

Monday, November 25th, 2013All packed up and ready to head out in the morning. I am headed up north to Sherman for Thanksgiving with the kids and grand kids. I hope the weather gets a little better because I will be right by Texoma and I have my boat , well let me just say I want to catch some stripers. I will stay up there for a few days and than I will head to Sam Rayburn to fish the first of four tournaments of the platinum series. I have not been on Rayburn but one time and that was about 6 years ago. I do get two practice days, so I will try to find a pattern that will hold up for a good two day bag. I want to take this time to thanks everyone that I had the pleasure to fish this year. It has been a grind at times but it still was a great year with a ton of big fish caught. I will not be back in Zapata till the 9th of Dec and I have a trip the 10th. With all of my plans and the holidays I have limited dates available for booking a fishing trip. Dec dates are limited as I only have Dec 11,12,13,15,16,17,18 and 19th open to book a trip. DEC, JAN, and FEB are great months and I am filling these dates up as I write so , please plan early and book a trip . If the weather turns bad on you date , I will work with you to rebook , or refund your deposit. I am interested in you booking with me and having a great trip and weather will play a big role in the next few months. I will have my computer with me and will be updating my fishing report. If you want to fish Falcon in the next few days , get in touch with me as I have a couple of guides that are going to stay and fish during the holidays.

Friday, November 22nd, 2013Well if you were outside today here in Zapata, than you know that about 11:30 am the cold front hit. This thing came in like a beast. I just hope it did not catch anyone out on the lake , as it was calm and pretty just before it hit.
This front is a big one and it is going to be here for a few days. This should push the fish out of the shallows for a while as the water temp is going to plunge. I have a trip planned for Sun and It looks like it might be on hold if I can get ahold of the two that booked it. From the looks of the weather Sun it will not be any improvement from todays conditions. I will be off for the Thanksgiving break, starting Tues. and than the Sam Rayburn tournament Dec 7 and 8th So I will not be on the water here on Falcon. I will however be in touch with a few guys that will be and I will still be putting up reports , to let you know what is going on , so that if you are planning a trip, it might give you an idea of what to do or not do. So please tune in.

Tuesday, November 19th, 2013As stated in my previous post I had the day off due to a cancelation, Man what a great day it would have been to be on the water. I did not go today but with another day off tomorrow I plan to go out. We do have a front coming in late Friday and thru the weekend , but Wed and Thursday look like it will be great . These fish should feed up and I plan on just fishing some deeper patterns and not worry about numbers. You still have time to book Thursday if you want to go out. If you have looked at my schedule than you know I will be taking a long break for Thanksgiving starting Tuesday the 25th and lasting till Dec 9th . The reason for such a long Time off is that I have a big tournament on Sam Rayburn the first week of Dec and plan on spending Thanksgiving with Family and than hitting Texoma for a few days and going to Rayburn for practice and the tournament. It has been a few years since I have tournament fished , but this trail has a lot to offer that the other ones do not. It is called the Platinum series and it is a four event trail with great payouts and no guide rule. I will be teaming up with Billy Tompkins and am looking forward to fishing with him as well. The field is stacked with some really great sticks , so it is going to be a battle of the best , wish us well. We will be busting our tails that is for sure.

Sunday, November 17th, 2013 Took out John today. John had not fished Falcon in 33 years and he was so excited to finally get back on Falcon. He caught a pretty day as well I thought this was a pretty sunrise picture . The little fish was an important fish for John as it was his first fish on Falcon, after a 33 year layoff. He caught it just about on his first cast . Later in the day he finally landed a good one. We caught several fish today. I think we boated about 15 or so, and the quality was fair with some going up to about 4 pounds. I had some cancelations for next week so I am open every day except Tuesday , so If you want to go , I am ready. I did have a little time to check out some deep stuff and we did catch one and got a few bites , It looks like to me that there might start back out pretty soon. Lots of shad back out on the drops and as soon as we loose some Moon I think , or hope they go deep.

Saturday, November 16th, 2013I want to know where in the heck the 88 degrees that was forecast today went. It stayed cloudy and cool and even at time rained on us today. I do not know how it was for everyone today, but it was damn tough to get a bite today. We did muster 10 fish today 3 of them we fair size the rest under 3 pounds. We had about 10 more bites . Pretty much every where we went today was full of boats as there were a ton on the water today. I hope we can get some stable weather and set these fish somewhere they feel comfortable in staying for a while , like back out there deep.

Saturday, November 16th, 2013Sorry about the late report, but I had company and after the night out I did not have time to put up a report. Mark , Charlie and I could not wait to get out , with the antisapation of having a great day , based on what we had on the day before with the weather being so much nicer . Well we were supprised . Now I expected the bit to start out slow , but when it warmed up I expected it to get on fire. I was wrong. We had to grind our butts off just to get a bite and when we did we had a hard time getting the fish in the boat. Late in the day we got on a sure fire fish catching pattern, the only problem all of them were on the 2 to 3 pound size. We did not have a big bite that we knew of today. We will be out there again tomorrow.

Thursday, November 14th, 2013 Took out Mark and Charlie today. These two are some of my favorite clients that fish with me , all the time. They are also who I am going Peacock Bass fishing with in Jan. Well to the day at hand. It was really cold early and to tell you the truth it did not feel like it warmed up much today until very late. We got off to a slow start and had only boated one fish by 10 am . We made a little adjustment to what we were doing and started getting bit, right away. We got on a little deeper bite today , as the cold had pushed the fish that I have been on, out to the drop. I mad a bad mistake this morning when I respooled my reel . I had ran out of 20 lb Floro and I had a role of 17 lb, so I used it . I should have none better . as luck would have it about 1 pm today we got on a big bite and I broke off two big fish that just took me for a ride , I landed a heavy 6 pounder and 5 pounder no problem. Mark hooked into one right after that , that we had no dought about how big she was as she went air borne right by the boat and threw the hook, She was way for sure a DD and than some. At least we all got to see that o0ne and than began to wonder what I had lost . Charlie got his chance as well and this fish busted him off as well. We had a fair day catching , or boating 14 fish today , but we lost about that many as well. But we will take that day based on how cold it was and knowing these fish hate cold down here. We made a stop at the tackle store and all of us will have 20 or 25 pound line on tomorrow. I KNOW BETTER THAN THAT. 17 lb LOL>

Tuesday, November 12th, 2013 I took out Ed and his two boys today. They hit one of the worst days , weather wise we have had . I love to have kids in my boat and today other than the weather we had , was no exception. We had a dollar bet on first fish of the day and James got us started, it did not matter that it was not a bass, He got his dollar from Ed and I. We fished hard and the boys never got tired of it today , even thought it was very slow and very tough today. We caught a few and had several more bites and fished the full day. Ed finally got a nice fish on a chatter bait and it came on his first cast with it. Than another 100 cast and than he got another one. They are headed to Amistad to fish that lake tomorrow , I wish them all the luck , they were really a great family to fish with and when I dropped them off I learned that Ed had three more kids to boot. Just a note : I just had Nov 19 and 20th open up and also 23 and 24th open up. The weather next week looks good so if you are interested , get in touch and lets go fishing.

Monday, November 11th, 2013 Took out Jim today. We hit the water early and headed south. Today was a carbon copy of the weather yesterday. Jim wanted to fish some deep stuff today and we did , but I told him that the bite was a shallow one and we would go deep later in the day after we had caught enough shallow fish. Well we started the day with the shallow fish kicking our butt first thing. We had 7 fish on and only landed 1 . This was not a good ratio. We did however improve on that ratio, but man we got our butts kicked today on some big fish , like the ones pictured. Jim had the bait today as he caught most of the fish. I did stop and load up on some after we got in. Like I promised Jim I would fish deep on the rocks for a couple of hours and we did , with 1 bite and zero fish. Man the fish need to get back out there , this shallow stuff is a lot of work. LOL.
