Well I took out Jason and Matt today. Today was another short day as they had to be on the road at 1 pm. I chose to stay north again today, because I did not want to spend a lot of our time going to the state park and putting in. We caught some fish , but nothing to take any pictures of. I am just not a 1/2 day guide. I normally do not do half days, but with it being slow I am taking what I can get. and Speaking of it slow. I am off now for 16 days unless someone wants to go fish between now and my next trip Sept the 16th. I was booked with one of my regulars , but he could not make it for his normal 4 days in Sept. Really I see the fishing picking up as you can see by my Aug 28th trip , which was a full day by the way. For the time being I will be working on my golf game. I would rather take you fishing , so please get in touch with me and let’s go.

Thursday, August 29th, 2013 Took out David and Joe again today. The only thing wrong with today is that we only have about 3 hours to fish, and I want to go south. With such little time I decided to put in at the county and run to the Tigers . Not as much going on , but we did catch a few small ones and I lost a big fish that just pulled off. As a slow and mathotical fisherman as I am I felt a little rushed today. With just a few min left to go I put us on a spot and told them I was going to end the day here. It paid off as Joe caught a really nice one and David and I also got on the board. If you are wordering about the picture of the two of them I had this left over from yesterday and so I had room for it today and put it up as it was a real good picture of the two.

Wednesday, August 28th, 2013 Well it was really nice to get back to work. I took out David and Joe today. We pretty much had the lake to ourselves today. The fish were really eating today. I had a 7 pounder on my first cast and followed it up , four cast later with a 6 pounder. I got them to switch to the bait I was using and they started getting into the action. Joe was on fire and landed some good quality fish. You know you are have a great day when you are culling 5 to 6 pounders before lunch. The numbers were good for us as well , but we caught more fish over 5 pounds than we did under 5 pounds . Joe had the biggest with a 8 lb 7 oz , he also had a 7 lb 3 oz and another 7 pounder and several 6 pounders . David finally got a picture fish but it was not needed in the stringer. My three better fish are not pictured and only one made the 5 fish stringer , the 7 pounder . Other than that fish Joe was a one man show today. Both guys lost a couple of really big fish today as well.

Sunday, August 25th, 2013 Well I talked Sheretta into going out with me to do a little scouting. She did well catching several all about like pictured. I got a few bites , but she is the only one that boated any. The lake to my surprise was real busy today . We put in at the county and I would say that there were about 50 rigs that had put in. We fished for only a couple of hours and , did mostly flipping on the mex side . I am still off until Wed so I have been building jigs and working on my golf game. I still have a bunch of days open in Sept and I sure need the work.

Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 Man someone has to book a trip with me soon. Look what I have to resort to just to have something to do. These three stooges and I went to Laredo’s new golf course the Max and played golf. This is what a guide resorts to when he is not working. Jay , Gary and I are guides that have no work and James is a tackle store owner that has now business. Is there anybody out there that fills sorry for us for , exspecialey me. All kidding aside , it has been a little slow here at Falcon because of the heat and the low lake conditions. But believe it or not , now is a great time to come. You can get a great guide in the three of us and the fishing is a little tough for Falcon, but it is still a hell of a lot better than any other lake in the country. Now I love to play golf , but I need the work and so when Jay , Gary and I work James is busy. We all could use your support right now. By the way The Max was a great gold course and it is lush . Green fee with a cart on Tuesday was only 26 bucks , what a freaking deal.

Monday, August 19th, 2013 Took out Justin and Ryan again today. Like said we put in at the State park and fished down there all day. It was very nice to have that area mostly to our self today. We started at the dam and I caught a nice 6 pounder there. Not much was happening there so we made a move and I caught a heavy 7 pounders on a rocky point on the Trig. I also lost a really big fish that just came unplugged. Justin and Ryan were off to a slow start. We made another move back north and Justin and I both catch a heavy 4 pounder and some smaller ones. Justin lost one in the 8 to 9 pound range right at the boat. and Ryan has only caught a couple of small ones. They told me that they were ready to go as they needed to get on the road early. I told them that I really wanted to hit an area I had planned on before we put the boat on the trailer. Justin and Ryan were ok with the little extra time and man did it pay off for Justin as he caught a fat 10 lb 4 oz pig flipping . Now first of all a 10 lb 4 oz is a big fish for this time of year and to flip a 10 lb 4 oz is a real treat. This fish was not Justin’s biggest fish but it was his personal best fish caught flipping. We called it a day after that . I should have had something to say about his hat, but I will leave that up to you . Looks like I am off the rest of the week and I flipped thru my calendar and my next trip is the 28th . I also work on the 29th and just had a guy cancel the 30th , 31st and Sept 1st . I need some trips for Sept . If you like to fish with no crowds , you need to come . Yes it is hot , but you can still catch a giant . Contact me and set up a trip .

Sunday, August 18th, 2013 Took out Justin and Ryan today. We put in at the county and headed south . We more or less fished main lake mid lake today . Tigers is as far south as we went. Ryan had a good day and Justin and I filled in a little with a couple of good fish. Today was damn near a carbon copy of Friday . The biggest today weighted 8 lb 8 oz and Ryan caught it flipping. The other fish he caught weighted 7 lb 3 oz and caught it in 16 feet of water on a football jig. We caught some fish early on a spinner bait and Justin lost a nice fish about a 6 pounder on the blade. I have them again tomorrow and we will do the south end tomorrow.

Friday, August 16th, 2013 Took out Stewart today. We started out North today . I had all of the south end of the lake I wanted yesterday. Even though today was not great for Falcon standards I will take it after yesterdays disaster . We started out with the crank bait and It was not working so we went quickly to the Trig . I was throwing one color and Stewart was throwing another. I was getting bit almost every cast and he was not so I told him to put on what I was throwing. Bam , he started catching them too. Just to see if it was the color I switched back to the other color and I did not get a bite and he still was catching them. Than that 30 min flurry was over. We tried several more places and caught a few but no size. I decided that the best thing to do was to go hit the trees , because I for sure did not want to go south. This was a good move as Stewart got a couple of nice fish after breaking off a great big one on his first flip. The long skinny fish Stewart caught was 27 inchs long. It was a mean son of a gun, I think it was a big male. Now I can flip with the best of them and remember how we started , about the color the fish wanted . Stewart and I were flipping the same bait in a different color and he caught 10 to my 2 and his were big and my two were small. I only had one bag of the color Stewart was using so I let him have them all. I know what you are thinking , what in the hell was the color. Well I am not ready to tell quit yet , but I did stop and get plenty and put them in the boat , because I did not have them yesterday and I really thing it made a big difference today.

Thursday, August 15th, 2013Well I was back on the water as I took out Karl and Troy today. Today was my birthday and I normally take off, but with it being a little slow I decided to take the trip. Let me tell you that Falcon did not give me any birthday presents today. She was as tough as I have seen it today. We did not catch but a hand full of fish today and a heavy 5 pounder was the biggest and I caught it,so that did not count. I have another trip tomorrow so I will fish north . South did not get it done today. Remember that I have free shipping on all jig orders for now. I have plenty in stock for quick delivery, so get your orders in while they last.

Monday, August 12th, 2013Well I have been off for a couple of days . I was suppose to work Sun , but I had one of them no shows. I will be sure the name is spread around to the other guides so he will not get the chance to do this again. I have a couple of days booked later this week and these trips I can count on. Looking at next week I am open . I can not remember the last time I had a whole week open that I did not want to be. I know it has been hot and the fishing is a little tough, but man it is still Falcon and it is still good enough. The lake is low and not very many people are coming down so the lake is not very crowded . Now is a good time to tough it out with me . There are still a few big fish showing up , and all it takes is a little work and most of the time you will get your chance at a monster.
