Well all I can say, is it is about time. I have had Jonnie as a client for about four years now . He has finally joined the DD club. Jonnie caught his lifetime personal best a 10 lb 5 oz giant today for his first fish of the day. The fish was 27 inchs long and 19 inches around. A big fat replica is going to be on the way. Now Jonnie has been with me and has caught plenty of 8 and 9 pound fish and has had some monster fish up to the boat , but the DD fish have been very mean to him. For the ones of you that have seen him on my site and in some of my videos , he always has a big cigar in his mouth in the pictures. I think when he saw the monster jumped he swallowed it. We had a good day on some more quality fish. Look close at the picture of the fish Matt is holding . It s has two hooks in it. They were both flipping a hardwood and the fish ate both of their baits , we all thought they both had a monster on as they were fighting and pulling against each other. I had this happen once before , when I had Ish Monroe and we were shooting his TV show . I will be taking Jonnie’s two grandsons out tomorrow , Matt and Luke . I will let you know how it goes. It sure was a nice day and I was glad to finally get back on the water.

Tuesday, July 30th, 2013Well I am still not back on the water . Maybe I will be tomorrow. Seems like the Wed, Thur and Friday book that I was suppose to have , had his days mixed up. He is here now , but I already had a Monday commitment . We decided to go out Wed and Thurs opting for a little less wind on these two day. I also have a trip Friday and Sat. I am ready to get back on the water . A man can only play so much golf before he has to get back to work.

Well after three unexpected days off I was back to work today taking out Rick and Juan . They were two of an 8 man group today from Armadillo Homes out of Laredo . We put in at the county and headed north to the Salada. We hit a few early fish on the gravel points throwing square bills and spinnerbaits. It slowed down in there pretty fast so I made a big move to the Tigers area. There we found a few bigger fish and landed a couple and lost a few more. Juan was having an issue with setting the hook. He caught 9 fish today but really never got the hookset down as he lost a couple of nice fish later in the day. Rick for some reason had fell well behind Juan on numbers after starting out fast. he ende up making a late in the day run and passed up Juan by catching 10 fish today I did not fish much , but I did catch 2 to make us with 21 boated for the day. Most of our fish were on the small size.

Wednesday, July 24th, 2013Off today due to a cancelation. The wind this week has been brutal and it is forcast for the next few day. So I really did not mind the cancelation, that bad. I need the trip because I just came back off of vacation. The good news is I just picked up 5 days for next week and hope the weather will be a little better to boot. Falcon as you might expect is fishing a little tough this week and the wind is not helping as it has colored up the lake quite a bit. Just a reminder if you are planning a trip to Falcon , about the Bass Shack. This place is the best place to stay if you are coming to fish Falcon and bringing your boat. This place has it all and will sleep up to 6 people in their own bed. All the details are on the site under lodging . Just a note I just had Labor day weekend open up , so the Shack is available if you want. The fishing on Falcon is still the best in the country , even when she is slow. Book a trip and lets go grind it out.

Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013Took out Brian and Lou again today. The wind was just a bitch today. Bottom line is that I just did not get it done today. We boated 13 fish all day and we worked our butts off to do that. We put in at the county and fished our way or blew our way to the Tigers and Back. Just to let you know how political TFF is about some of the post that are made. I had a client that I fished last Sat the 13th of July. He sent me a text and let me know that he posted on TFF about his trip with me. I looked for it and did not see it . he texted me again and said the post had been moved so he was going to post again, again this post was moved as well. I do not encourage my clients to post anything on TFF as I do not use it for my guide business. But I do look and I noticed a similar post up right now about a trip with a Fork guide, and it has been up for two or three days . What the hell is the difference . Politics are in everything. A Fishing forum should be fair and the same to everyone , should it not. Oh by the way if you want to know what the man that went out with me said about his trip with me , you can find it hid in The Plug and Anouncements on TFF, not the Bass section where it was posted twice.

Monday, July 22nd, 2013Took out Brian and Lou today. We knew it was going to be a little on the windy side so we put in at the state park and stayed down there all day. We caught plenty of fish today , but just could not get on a big bite. Brian lost a big fish at the boat , but we did not get to see it. Other than that I do not think we had another big bite all day. We are going to put in at the county tomorrow and do something different . We went threw about 8 packs of baits on small fish today. We want to try to get a few big bites on less baits .

Well just about to head home . Chris and I went out yesterday evening on a guided Striper trip . I did a little research and got ahold of Little John Guide service and he took Chris and I out for a few hours late . This guy was great as he put us on some really solid stripers. I had warned Chris how hard they fight and he was the first to find out. We had a blast and fished till dark catch about 25 fish and some big ones up to 12 pounds. I plan on having all the info on Little John on my site very soon , with his link at the bottom of my web page . If you want a good trip give him all call . I have a trip starting Monday and even though the time off has been great I am ready to get back to work.

Mission accomplished , Payton is hooked on fishing. I took her to a local park here in Sherman and she caught her first fish. We all had a blast watching her get so excited. Chris and I are going stripper fishing at 5 pm till dark today on Texoma. I will let you know how we did later.

Ok back at Texoma and will take Payton fishing tomorrow, she is so excited and can hardly wait. I was in Branson, Mo early today and got hook up with a Fly fishing guide, Jeremy Hunt, so I did a half day fly trip for trout with a fly rod. Now this was way different for me as you can imagine. After a quick lesson on how to cast a fly rod we were off. My first trout was a brown and than I caught about 7 or 8 Rainbows . This was really cool and I really injoyed myself. The water we fished, was below Table Rock dam, pictured. I will post on what Payton and I do tomorrow.

Well sorry about not reporting but Sheretta and I just got to where I had internet service. I am now in Branson, Mo next to Table Rock Lake. We just came from Ok, at Grand lake. We went out fishing with a friend of ours Tony. Tony and I also played golf on a really nice course on Grand Lake. Sheretta and I came threw Springfield, Mo and as you know this is the home of the first Bass Pro Shop, so I had to stop and check it out. This one is the biggest one I have been in. We plan on leaving here tomorrow and heading to Sherman Texas to see Payton, one of our grandchildren and I am taking her fishing Friday. She is so excited. I got her a rod and reel and gave it to her and our way to Grand lake and told her to practice throwing it and I would be back to take her fishing. I might also get to fish Texoma while I am there . I will have service from now on, so I will post again later.
