Took out Josh and Kevin today. It was a little chilly early to say the least. I felt like this front would hurt the bite a little shallow so we started deep . We only caught one in the first hour and with my shallow bite pretty good the last few days out I probably pulled off the deep bit too early. We went shallow and caught a few right off and than nothing for a while . I keep hopeing the sun would come out but it seemed like it never did. These two guys and I fish as hard as we could and we did boat two females and I broke off a big one. We did get several bites and they would not eat the bait. We only boated 13 fish and we fish a little of everything today.

Man I could not sleep last night . All I could see was the two big fish I lost that i got a good look at, but the one that just bulldogged me is the one I could not get off my mind. I think it had to be one like pictured on this report. I am off today do to a weather delay, but I plan on getting my big gun out , as this spawn kicks in and these big females come in. I will be back on the water Thurs and the wind is to be not so bad and I am going to really try to catch them deep for the first part of the day and if that works stay with it . But if it is not I will go try to redeem myself.

Took out Dick again today. Today started real windy , so I had to fish a little different area. But yesterdays flipping practice really paid off for Dick today. He made alot better flips and he caught some nice fish today. With the wind and the cover I did not weigh any fish today and only took this one picture of the biggest for Dick. We boated 28 fish today , 27 of them flipping. One on the crank bait. Dick is really fired up about flipping now. I have to admit it was a blast. Most of our fish were bucks , but we caught 7 nice fish 5 to 8 pounds . I had my chance at three big fish, bottom line I was hunting bear with a bb gun on these three. I seen two of them and one I never got a look at. I will be back. I know where they live. Based on the weather report I am going to stay at the house tomorrow and take my wed trip out Thursday as I just had that day open up for me to be able to do that . Lucky us. Believe me if the weather report is right you do not want to be out there unless you have to.

Took out Dick today. I knew it was going to get windy so I put us in an area that we could crank and when the wind hit, go get protected. Dick lost two really nice fish right off the bat on the crank and than we did not get any more on, so we went ahead and went to the bank early. Dick had never flipped before and was willing to learn, He did pretty well for his first time , and learned real fast as how these fish can get you in the stuff real at a blink of an eye. After the wind picked up Dick had a little more trouble . I put a heaver weight and that helped a bunch. We caught alot of fish today but most were just buck bass. I did have a 5 and a 6 pounder and his biggest was a solid four pounder. We will give them heck tomorrow and he has his first day of flipping under his belt. I love to flip but this is the first year in a few that I felt I had to to produce, on a guide trip. Several things , why this year . Look where most everybody is right now , I have seen three boats in two days, and one of them I seen all day no matter where I went, I should have charged them a follow boat fee. We had such a long cold spell and all the sudden its 85 or hotter and the full moon to boot. Alot of fish were holding, holding and holding and it was a light switch, They will not hit the bank to spawn till it get right, It will settle back again , and good numbers will go back to structure.  This wave of spawners is a big one , but I hope it is soon over . I want them deep.

Well with the warm weather and my thought that we have had some fish move up. I called a fellow friend and guide to go out with me to do some scouting. We had a blast and found some fish that will help us out on our trips coming up Monday. I put up a few pictures, but I had three really nice fish that I did not put up , because believe it or not , after a few days ago I looked at the picture and felt like it was going to give the spot up, and I was afraid if it did that I would not be able to us it to make clients happy. The best thing Nobody seen us either.  Your are just going to have to take my word for it . I did not take the picture, but Tony did and He was not aware of the problem I had last week. I had two 8 pound class and one 9 and we lost three more big son of a guns. We caught over 30 fish today, so I feel really good about this coming week. We still have to put them in the boat though to have a good day.

Took out Bill and Jeff again today. I wanted to change the pace a little today, based on the heat and this time a year , to fish shallow today. Not really a good move on my part, but another deciding factor was the things I had to deel with yesterday,  I went to an area that I knew would not be to busy and I could fish where I wanted to . We did get bit anough to have a fair day, and did catch some .But way more misses than boated fish., Damn spawners.  I unfortunately caught a 7 pounder , but we did not have the day I wanted to. At least the weather was nice and the water is getting warmed up. This is and will get the shallow bite going and maybe spread out a few people on the lake. I hope because the south end is getting pounded . I am off this weekend , so I am sending Bill and Jeff out with another guide today, just to give them differant look. I will report how they do.

Took out Bill and Jeff today. It was really foggy but we ran in it anyway. We start off right off the bat with Jeff catching his personal best a 6.98 lb beautiful spotted bass. Just look at all the black spots on this fish. Bill followed up with a nice fish I did not weigh but close to 6 pounds. I got one about 4 pounds and a dink. We lost a couple and than it started getting tough. We made a move and tryed to hit a spot , but this boat started trolling tward us , he got close so I cranked the big motor and went around him to another spot on the same ridge about 400 yard away, now take in mind the oppisite direction he was going. I get on the spot and we make a cast or two , he fires his big motor up and comes over where we were at and drives right up in front of us. I said what do you want , he said you catching them . I said , man you drove right over where I am fishing , he said it does not scare the fish you will be ok., and than drove out tward another boat and was going to do the same thing,Damdest thing I have ever seen. Well back to the fishing , after that we just pulled up and went to Mexico. We got a few small ones on a C-Rig . Late in the day Jeff lost a really big fish that broke him off at the boat. I caught another 4 poulnder . Really slow today. I suspect with this heat and the full moon the fish scattered and went shallow.

Took out Bill and Dan today. We put in early and headed south. Today started out a little bit like yesterday as we lost 4 good fish right off the bat. Than Bill finally had a good one and got it to the boat and it was a 7 pound carp. Then he caught another one and it was a catfish. What a hell of a start. Finally Bill gets one in and it is a 6 inch bass . I had to think all of this was funny, but All I could think about was what happened yesterday and this day look bad starting out. Than finally Bill gets a good fish in the boat and than Dan . They did have a little trouble right out of the box but started picking it up pretty fast. I was just starting to relax a little and than Dan gets a monster fish on and all hell breaks out . This fish was pulling drag and headed for deep water. After about two min I knew what was going on an after a 10 min battle he lands a 13 pound blue cat. Day from hell , here we go again. I moved to another spot and I hit a good fish right off. a heavy 6 pounder. Both Dan and Bill hook up and Bill really has a big fish and both of them loose them . I make a hard cast out of anger and I get a 6 or 7 pounder on and dammit she jumps 3 foot in the air and comes off. I had to stop and take a deep breath. We had a little meeting and man we got our revenge and landed allmost all the fish the rest of the day . We boated about 20 or so and had five that went around 35 pounds I weighed a couple and did not weight them all but you can see by the pictures we had some good fish.

Took out Josh and Shawn again today, after yesterday we could not wait to get back on the fish. We got on them , the only problem today the fish won. I bragged on them only loosing two fish out of twenty . Well I will never do that again. We had 11 fish on , on our first spot and landed only two of them and Josh did the honers on that. Shawn was snake bit as he got three really nice fish to the boat just to have them come off . Josh lost the biggest one today a good 8 or 9 pounder. We did not have a DD on that we know of today , but damn just like I said yesterday it sure helps the day when you land most of them. The good thing at least we had our chance. Now not at a 44 pound bag, but we sure had our chance at 35 pounds or so on just the 5 or 6 fish we had to the boat that we saw. That is fishing.

Took out Josh and Shawn today,  All I can say it is about time. Warm weather this time of year is the key. We got on the water early and our first spot was on fire. Shawn got his fish of a lifetime a 11.26 lb personal best, than Josh got his personal best 10 min later a 8.00 pig. We caught several and I have more pictures but 14 up is enough. After the feed frenzy it slowed down but we still picked one up here and there. We had a big sack today with our best five going 44.43 pounds all weighed. I caught a 10.78 late in the day that helped our bag quite a bit it kicked out a 6.32. Shawn had a 9 plus at the boat and she broke him off with a last min surge. Shawn had a tarpon on the went about 8 and jumped three feet in the air and spit the bait back at him. I felt like this past few days as the weather has finally warmed up it would get things going and it sure did for us today we boated about twenty fish today and only two were under 4 pounds. most were all over 5.  We only lost two fish today so that really helped . Josh is pictured with my 10.78 They caught all the other fish in the stringer .
