Took out Clay and Tommy for the day. Wally had the other two guys that came with them. The picture is one I took of The young man with Wally holding up his personal best a 8.37 Lb . Wally could not find his scale so I went and weighed and took this picture . This was really cool because the young man was only 82 years old and fished all day in this brutal heat today. Clay, Tom and I were snake bit yesterday. We did catch some fish , and really all kinds, Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Gar, you name it we caught it. We fished our butts off and probably boated about 20 fish , no big ones . Clay did flip a hugh fish and his drag was backed off and he did not get a good hook in her and she came off right at the boat where we all just had our mouth open as she was hugh. For sure he would have finally got in the DD club. We burnt a ton of gas yesterday , but for sure it was a slow day for us. Just to let you know I will be off for about a week or 10 days. I have to have surgery , I will still be doing a fishing report , as I will have Tim and Wally filling in for me. Both of these guys will work their ass off for you. Wally will be guiding out of my boat and Tim will be in his . Wally will not like his Ranger after using my Triton next week. Well good luck and good fishing , I know I am going to have withdraws not being able to get on the water , but that is how it goes.

Out with Neil and Eric again today . We put in early and headed south. We caught several fish early but no real big ones I had a 6 and a heavy five and Eric had a heavy 4 pounder. We made a move back north mid morning and Eric caught his personal best a 8.11 pounder. I caught another one about 6 pounds and we caught several more 2 to 4 pounders . We caught more fish today but not near the quality . Neil did break a big one off on the crank bait , we know because she came out of the water , trying to shake the crank bait. Neil finally got one in the top five late in the day that went a little over 7 pounds. These two really ground it out for two days and it paid off for them both having their personal best for the trip. Niel a 9.13 lb and Eric a 8.11 lb. Great job guys”””’.

Back on the water today after a few days off. I took out Neil and Eric today. My morning bite just sucked today. I have been really doing most of my damage early and then grinding out the rest of the day. We just did not get them to eat on one of my good early morning spots. So the rest of the day we just ground it out and We ended up with some good quality fish. Neil got the biggest a 9.13 lb and this fish was his lifetime personal best . He also caught a 7.87 to go with her and than a 7.56 So he had the top three in our five fish stringer that went a little over 39 pounds. We only caught about 15 fish today but we had just five under 5 pounds. Look out tomorrow if we get the early bite because we know what to do when it get hot. All the better fish came on the crank except I caught a heavy 7 pounder on the Hammerhead jig.

Out with Bob today . We went in his new Ranger. I tried to not let any of that Ranger rub off on me. We started out with a bang, well let me tell the truth I did . I put it on Bob on the first spot. I thank I had 12 to his three. I had the right color. Most were really good quality up to about 7 pounds. Bob did have one of his three that went about 6 pounds. We did not weight any , just a good guess on size. After the butt kicking I gave Bob we went to flip some trees and that did not last very long as we only got a few bites , but no hookups. I went back out on the main lake and Bob finally got his revenge with a really nice fish she went about 8 pounds . The wind started to get up a little and I got hungry so we called it a day and I even drove the Ranger Home .

Well I am ready to get back on the water after Sheretta and Buster worked my butt off. I had a three day cancellation so Sheretta put me to work. As you can see , we built Buster a back yard fence. So when I got finished after two grinding days of labor , Buster went out to do his inspection. He walked every inch and even stopped and took a leak on it already. This will be a good addition for us and Buster. Talked to Tim , one of my guides and he just smoked the fish today. The little cooler in temp might get these fish in the eating mood. I still have a few days off so I will be out finding out . That is for sure.

Well had an unexpected day off, in fact I have the next few days as well. A client could not make it out of Fl. in time so he canceled. Sure was a perfect day to be on the water. My wife got wind of the next few days off so I got talked into building a back yard fence for Buster. So while the wind is finally not blowing a gail I will be doing house chores. Just a reminder about the Bass Shack. We have it available to anyone that wants to come to Falcon. Everyone that has stayed there has really liked it. Reason why, it has everything, and is very clean and in a good place . If you are interested look at the schedule page, pull the month and year you want to came and look at the calender. the Bass Shack is booked if there is the word House in the box. The word booked is if I am booked for fishing. So pick your dates and get it booked. It will sleep up to six people in there on beds and has two baths., Fully stocked kitchen , Big screen TV, wireless Internet, Washer , dryer, covered boat parking for two boats , and real cold air. Outdoor grill, This is a great place at a great price. Just a word of advise about guides . If you plan on hiring a guide, please do your homework. The best thing you can do before you spend your money is to call and talk to the local tackle shop and in this case it is Falcon Lake Tackle . Tommy and James are not guides and they will shoot you straight on anybody you ask about. The other tackle store owner guides and really does not work with the local guides. And lets face it . The Internet is a strong force to say the least , but most people when they get on and ask for info for a guides is getting someones that might have been out with one guide one time on Falcon and now he is the expert on who to use on Falcon. I really love it when someone makes a comment that if you do not use so and so , you are just wasting your time with anybody else. Now Bull Shit, There are several great guides on this Lake and unless you have personally been out with all of them, you do not know what the hell you are talking about. First thing I would do if I were looking for a guide, is make sure he is a year around full time guide on Falcon, Check with Falcon Lake Tackle or Someone that has personally fished with that guides or better fished with several of the local guides to where he can make a honest comparison between them. Call or contact the guides that you are thinking about using , See if your dates match up, Get a price for what you want , If he is not posting a fishing report, find out what his days have been like and compare it to what all the other guides are doing. Now I know all the year around Local guides and I really hope that if you are going to spend your money on a guide, that you will please give these guys a chance first. They are the ones that live here and guide for a living , and we all need your business. I will only list first names ,  Tommy L. ,  Jay G, Jim E. Jim B. Gary H,  Folks that is it for Full Timmers Here. We are all listed on Falcon Lake Tackle’s  website under Guide Link. We are there for a reason so check us all out . Call James or Tommy , they know and see us all everyday and they know who is on them and who is not . Or take your chance on an Internet expert, that has been on Falcon one time with one guide. Just be smart .

Out today after a couple of days off. I was asked to put no pictures up so I did not. We did catch an 8 and a 9 today . We did not weight them but took a good guess. For the most part it was a real grind today . We caught about 20 fish and had about 30 to 31 pounds . We cranked early and Texas rigged the rest of the day. We got alot of bites but the fish would just not hang on. We fished shallow, deep and even flipped . At least the wind was ok today and we could really fish most anything we wanted to.

With the wind forecast today Jonnie and I decided not to go. He is going to be here all week so we will go on a better day. The water released for Amistad did little good for Falcon we held steady at 261.48 for one day and came up to 261.55 the next day and now we are back to 261.48 we are loosing water at about 2 inches a day or about a foot a week . At this rate , if we do not get something we could really be in for it when the crowds hit Jan and Feb. We could very easy see it 20 foot lower by Jan . or 60 foot low, and to go with that they start irrigation than as well and I can remember back when we were low in 1990 the lake was dropping feet a day not inches. The lake is already fish very small so you can imagine what it will be like in Jan and Feb if we see the people like we did last year. Just the ramp situation will be fun. All said this lake will still be the best you can fish , it just will not fish as good as she does when full. We that love Falcon need to pray for rain .

Took out Johnnie today. We hit the lake early to get in some main lake stuff before the wind got up. I pulled up on the first spot and lost a really big fish on the first cast. It must have jinks us because we only caught a couple of small ones after that. We made a move once the wind came and caught two really nice fish right off the bat. We fished it hard for another hour and I caught another one that went about 6 pounds and one about 4 and that was it. WE were getting our ass blown off so we headed back north and went into the Tigers trying to get out of the wind. We caught 8 or 10 more fish in there two about 5 pounds and called it a day. All in all we had a piss poor day with about 20 fish and about 30 pounds.
