Took out Patrick and Shawn again today. Today i wanted to start out with the crankbait in the Salado and that is what we tryed to do. Every point I wanted to crank had a damn net on it and in most cases two or three. It was impossible . So we said the hell with it and headed back and started flipping. This ended up being a great choice. We flipped almost all day and Shawn was on fire. He caught the most of them and Patrick and I just got the net. Really we all caught fish and the best part almost every fish was quality like pictured . We had several more not pictured because most of them were the same 5 to 7 pounders. We will head south tomorrow and will stay deep all day . Do or die we are not flipping trees tomorrow.

Off today due to a cancellation . I did not mind as I have plenty to do and the wind has been a bitch anyway. I got plenty of Jigs ready over the weekend as well. I do have the 3/4 Hammerheads now for the ones that like a little lighter presentation. I got on a good jig bite last week as I am finding more fish are pushing deep and starting to bunch up on structure . Of course I have the Football in 3/4 and 1 oz as well. Falcon Lake Tackle is carrying all my jigs now so if you want some go by there and get some or you can order them off this site . Also we do have a great place to stay if you are planning a trip to Falcon . It will sleep up to six people and has everything you need . Covered boat parking, big screen TV with cable, Wireless Internet, Fully stocked kitchen, outdoor grill, washer, dryer, and more. $100 per night for two, $125 for four, $150 for six , Two night min. Also back on the fishing or guiding note. I have heard that some of the guides here are going to $500 per day . I for one will stay at $400 . I just feel that that is enough for you to have to pay . I make a good living getting to do what I love to do , getting to meet fellow fishermen and experience a day on the water with some great people. I have plenty of clients and stay full and book two more guides with all they want and could very easy get $500 , I just do not see it. This is just my opinion and not trying to down anybody else . I wish them all the luck with this and hope they stay busy. I will be at $400 per day and so will my other two guides .

Took out Dave and Chris today for a windy day on Falcon Lake. We did manage it very well today and really caught some nice fish. We cranked some and caught a couple of really nice ones ,but most of the fish today came flipping. For one thing with this wind that was the best thing to do. For the most part we put most of our bites in the boat and that always makes for a better day. Sorry I put the report so late, but I had to get a bunch of jigs out to the mail and than I am fishing a tournament this weekend so I had to get ready for that as well.

Took out Robert and Ryan again today . We were met with some stiff winds today and I reallly affected us today. Ryan had on a 8 pounder on the crank bait but she came off at the boat. We caught very few fish today but Robert caught an 8 lb 10 oz just shy of his personal best yesterday. We caught a 6 pounder and two five pounders and a 4 pounder for our top five the others were dinks. The Hammerhead caught most of the fish today. I would have normally hit the bushes mid day, but they did not want to flip the bushes so we stayed out in the wind all day, my butt is draging .

Took out Robert and Ryan again today. We went south as I said I would today. It started out with Ryan breaking off an 8 pounder on his first cast. Than I lost another 8 pounder at the boat. We finally settled in and started putting fish in the boat. We were on quality fish and for the most part that is all we caught. We did not catch but 4 or 5 fish under 6 pounds. The picture with both of them holding up four fish ,was where I had to put them in the well for a few min , so we could catch our breat and ,not be seen taking pictures of big fish. Just to note that the four fish in the picture are none of the fish in the single shots. We had just released them and Robert on his next cast caught his personal best an 8 lb 15 oz brute. Speaking of brutes I lost a fish at the top of the water today late that was in the 12 pound range , that would have been a good kicker for our already great stringer of 41 lb 12 oz our smallest fish in the stringer was an 7 lb 15 oz Caught by Ryan, another personal best for him as well. All but one of the fish pictured were caught on the Hammerhead Jig today. I have them again tomorrow and look foward to it.

Took out Randy and Ryan today. We fished the Salado arm all day today. We started out cranking and caught a few up to 6 pounds doing that. It was a little off today so about 10 am we hit the bushes and Robert caught his personal best right off an 8 lb 2 oz . We caught several more but we were getting a bunch of fish on and not putting them in the boat. Ryan lost an absolute monster as she pull the hook out as she came screaming by the boat. It had to be at least a 10 pounder . I also lost a couple of really nice fish. Man there are alot of fish up shallow. We had a slow day for Falcon standards at about 25 fish and about 31 pounds best five . We will be south tomorrow.

Took out Robert and Kathleen again today. Bass Champs was here and we had to just get where we could. We did not catch a bunch of fish , about 30, but we sure caught some good fish. Kathleen got hit a the boat by a hugh fish and at first she thought she was hung up,The rod just started shaking back and forth and the fish came out of the water right at the boat. I felt for her ,but nothing she could have done . the fish was fo0r sure a DD and probalble in the 11 to 12 pound range. It was not very long after that happened she caught an 8 lb 1 oz and than she knew for sure what she had on. Robert and Kathleen had a nice double and I had a 9 lb 6 oz for big fish . We caught all our fish on the crank bait except two I caught a nice fish on a jig and Kathleen caught a 7 lb 11 oz flipping. She had two more big fish on in the trees but they won. I do not know at this time waht it took to win Bass champs . We had three with a 7 lb 11 as our smallest , we sure could have used the fish Kathleen lost for 3 to 4 more pounds but our best three went 26 lb 2 oz and best five went 39 lb 11 oz . Not a bad day when I had to just fish what was open/

Took out Robert and Kathleen today. This was their fourth year in a roll with me. We really caught some nice fish today . Cranks eairly and bushes late. Both Robert and Kathleen lost pigs on the crank bait. Roberts just came up and threw it ,and Kathleen’s just took hers as a souvenir and was proud of it as it came up twice around the boat shaking that crank bait at us to see, The both did however catch some good ones , biggest a 8 lb 14 oz by Robert. Kathleen kicked the fishes butts in the bushes , when she got bite she hit hard and put them in the boat, Robert did the same, but he is a strong man and is suppose to do that. We caught about 40 fish today and had a fair bag at 34 plus pounds, Kathleen proved she could catch everthing on the crankbait , She caught this big Talapia on a crank bait . I have never done that before, and I fished Falcon for 42 years.

Took out Wes and Josh again today , and with a good day behind us we put in an headed south. We started with the square bill and caught some but all small. I did have a six pounder and she got hung up in a net that I did not see. After that we started deep cranking and still catching a few but all on the small size Wes did lose a 7 pounder on the crank . We decided to go flip a bit about 11 and I lost two 6 pounders in the trees , both came up out of the trees and than came off. One of them days that nothing was going right when we did get a good fish on we lost it. Than I wanted a about 12:30 to go start cranking again and I went to pull my trolling motor up and snapped a cable, Our day was done at that point.
