Sorry about no fishing report for the past few days. I had scheduled a couple of days off to go see my daughter, Morgan, graduate high school. We left a day early to go because Sheretta’s dad had a turn for the bad and We are so glad we did because we did get to see him the evening before he passed. We had alot to get done on our short trip, but all went well and I am glad to be back home and ready to get back on the water. The wind continues to blow like you know what. I know it has been hot here in Zapata, but Sat in Abilene it was 112 degrees. Falcon continues to drop but slower than before . It looks like we are loosing a foot a week at this pace. Sheretta got to see the grand babys , it looks like she has a had full in the picture. Me , Morgan, Colten, and Sheretta pictured at Morgan’s graduation.

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 Took out Billy and Mike today and it was another winday day on Falcon. We braved the big water anyway and it payed off for us big time. We caught a great stringer today and we caught a bunch of quality fish as well. Both Billy and Mike lost monster fish today or we would have poped 40 lbs easy today. We only saw two boats today and both of them ended up fishing where they saw us catching fish. People like this just get to me. Go find your own fish or hire a guide. I have one more day with clients and then I am headed to see my little girl graduate high school. Maybe when I get back this wind will be gone.

We still could not get where I wanted but we did get to a few places that I could manage the wind and we caught some really nice fish including Billy’s new personal best a 10 lb 4 oz monster. Rusty caught a couple of big fish too. I have them again tomorrow and hopefully the wind will let up a little.

Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 Took out Billy and Rusty today and we were in for a brutal windy day. All we could do was tuck in a cove a grind it out. We caught several fish but most of them were on the small side. We did catch a 7 pounder , three 6 pounders and a five pounder . bairley keeping my 30 pound stringer run alive. I have them for two more days and hope the wind will be better tommorow. I also added a picture of Big Tim He was in a tournament on Lake Ivie today and caught this monster fish a 13.43 lb monster. For you that do not know Tim , he is the one that is helping me guide now days. He can catch some toads as well.

Saturday, May 21st, 2011 Took out Robert and Kathleen again today. I had them yesterday and we had a great day. At the end of the day yesterday I checked on something I thought might be good. I liked what I saw and so I decided to start there today. Man was I right. Kathleen caught a 6 lob 14 on her first cast and it was sick from there. I of all days forgot my camera and had to take pictures with my phone. I ran the battery down after I took 23 pictures of fish befor 9 am. By luck they had their camera and so I got the rest of the day with it. We took pictures of 43 fish over 6 pounds today and stoped taking pictures by 11 am of anything under 7 pounds with the exception of a double later in the day. Kathelene had a hell of a day. she had all by herself a 9 lb 2 oz personal best, 8 lb 11 oz , 8 lb 4 oz, 7 lb 7 oz and a 6 lb 14 oz. The boat had a 42 lb 13 oz stringer and I did not touch a rod or fish till that was done. Robert had big fish of the day with a 9 lb 5 oz and that was his only fish in the stringer of five for the day it culled Kathleen’s 6 lb 14 oz

Friday, May 20th, 2011 Took out Robert and Kathleen today. We headed south even thow it was windy because the forcast was for the wind to die and I wanted to be down there when it did. We stayed protected early and when the wind let up we went main lake and We just started whacking some big fish or should I say Kathleen did. Kathleen had a hell of a stringer by herself , about 35 pounds She could have had a monster stringer but she lost three fish that we all saw in the 10 pound range. Two of them at the boat with me trying to grab them.

Thursday, May 19th, 2011 I took the day off to do some much needed maintance on my boat. Jimbo came in and over supper he talked me into taking him and Wayne out for an early morning buzzbait bite. We did and we did catch a few but nothing big. About 9 am I backed off and hit a spot with a crankbait and a 10 lb 10 oz jumped on it ( pictured with Wayne) after pictures and weight I got lined back up and Jimbo made the next cast and an 11 lb 11 oz jumped on his. This 11 lb 11 oz monster is Jimbo’s personal best on a crankbait. Not a bad back to back cast. We came in about 10:30 because I really have alot to do.

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 Took out Jerry and Luke today. It was windy again today so we were limited again on what I wanted to do. We stayed protected and still managed a really good bag of fish. We caught all out fish today on the fluke. Mainly because we did not throw anything else. Luke got his personal best five or six times today and it ended up with a 7 lb 13 oz for his best. We boated about 40 today.

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 Took out Jon and Bryan again today. Today we were met with some pretty strong winds so our options were not as good as yesterday, but we made the best of it. Jon really had a great day today as we were raging him because Bryan and I kicked his ass so bad yesterday. He had his personal best today a 9 lb even. Bryan had a poor day of exicution due to sore arms and ribs from yesterday, he lost several big fish today. We did not do as good as yesterday but I will take it We boated over 40 fish today and Jon had the best five going 35 lb 14 oz by himself. I guess we raged on him enouth that he did the job today.

Monday, May 16th, 2011Took out Jon and Bryan today from Co. I fished Jon in November twice and we smoked them then. He ask me if any other time was good , I told him to come in May as that is when it really get going for me. Well he listened and look what happened. We got a great day and I could run my pattern on main lake anywhere I wanted to go. We had a hell of a stringer today anchored with three , yes three fish over 10 pounds today. A 10 lb 12 oz, 10 lb 8 oz and 10 lb 5 oz. What was more impressive is the number of quality fish we caught today. We caught about 80 fish today and 60 of them were over 5 pounds. Big plastics. The 10 lb 8 oz was Bryan’s personal best. Bryan had fished Amistad before but not Falcon and asked me when we were putting in which was the best lake . I told him to let me know after we got done , he did not wait that long as we had 40 plus pounds by 9 am. and I think he got the point. Amistad is a great lake and I love to fish it , but Falcon is still the king.
