Off today so I took Sheretta and Buster out for a few hours on Falcon. We really caught some nice fish as we were just fishing our way South looking for some more schools of fish for me to guide on. We had two over 9 pounds one 8 pounder and several 6 to 7 pounders that we did not take any pictures of. Ther were a ton of boats on the water today. The wind was pretty stiff early but laid about noon and it sure made the boat ride from way down south better.

Taking the day off due to a rescedule , but I did not mind. I did go out and do some scoutting yesterday and with good results. I made use of the day off to go and find some more schools of fish. The lake is still dropping like a rock and we sit at 293.38 we are dropping about a foot every five days. This will continue to pull the fish out to the structure , as well as it is that time of year. The summer pattern on Falcon is what I live for. Most everyone had come and gone and the fishing is just starting to be at its best. I know if you have looked at my schedule it is full , but I do have some cancelations so keep checking with me and I might can get you in. Even if I can not take you I have a couple of Guides that will do you a great job ,so let me at least get you with someone good and can be assured they will put you on fish.

Took out Buck and his 9 year old boy Neil. The agenda today was to get Neil some fish . I knew a place that I thought might work for him. It had some good fish and they were shallow ,so he could feel the bite. It worked out ok , on his first cast he caught and landed a nice fish weighing in at 4 lb 4 oz, his personal best right off the get go. He ended up catching 9 fish, and his arm and wrist got sore so we called it a day and came in early. My video that I shot April 13th,  is on my video page now. Go to video page it is the first one up. We had already caught four big fish before I put my video glasses on. It was crazy as we were all getting bit on almost every cast .

Took out Buck today. I met Buck when I was fishing the BASS masters open tournament in 2008 and told him then he needed to come down to Falcon. Well it took him about 4 years but he finally made it. He also hit the weather right as the wind blew early but then it layed and we just smoaked them today. We caught about 40 or so today and about 20 or so were over 6 pounds with a 10 lb 14 oz monster of a fish our biggest for the day. I caught several and lost several big fish on the crank bait today but our big stringer fish came on the big plastics.

Took out Carl and his son Garrett today. Carl did this trip for a supprise birthday gift for Garrett’s 17th birthday. We was not met with the best of weather , the wind was just howling. I took them into some protected water and we really had a good day. Garrett caught the most and the biggest an 8 lb 13 oz pig. The 8 lb 13 oz was Garrett’s personal best. He put 27 fish in the boat and had several fish over 6 pounds as well. Dad did ok from the back of the boat catching 11 fish and his biggest was a nice 6 lb 4 oz and this fish was his personal best as well.. I think I caught 12 . We ended up with about 50 for the boat , but we also lost several fish today as well. Carl lost a 10 pounder right at the boat. and I had two fish today on a jig I could not turn. I will take the day for the weather we had to deal with.

Took out Mike and his son Gary today. Today was a little winder than I would have liked but managable. Mike is a regular client of mine and he brought his son Gary for his first taste of Falcon. Gary had not fished much so I tried to coach him as we went along. As luck would have it . Gary got on some monster fish and most of them kicked his butt. One even took him down and rapped the rod around the trolling motor and broke hime off. I looked at the rod after that and the eyes were all flattened out like it had been ran over. He did however land to good fish a 7 lb 11 oz and a 9 lb even. We caught about 40 fish today. I did get a monster fish to the boat and Mike had just put his hand on her and she came loose and she slipped out of his hand and out of site. I was sick as this fish was no dought in the 13 to 15 pound class. I had her on for a while and had eased her up to the side of the boat and was looking at her in disbelief how wide she was. She was an absolute monster of a fish. UPDATE: We went out again today but only till 10 am as they had to get back, and it was windy as heck today. We started where we left off yesterday and Gary ( Bubba) got a nice fish on his first cast. We caught about 20 fish in 2 or 3 hours and five or six of them were pretty nice with Bubba’s fish the biggest a 7 lb 11 oz.

Took out George and his brother Gene. We had a little wind early but it slicked off and got hot. We caught a bunch of fish today about 50 and at least half of them were over 5 pounds . George had the biggest and personal best, a 7 lb 9 oz and we had three more over 7 pounds and a 6 lb 8 oz for our biggest five. No real big ones today but we still had a great day. All fish caught tex rigged soft plastics. The fishing on Falcon Lake is really getting good and the fish are starting to bunch up on their summer pattern. This is what I live for. If you want to come to Falcon at its best now is when it gets started. I know if you look at my schedule you will see that I am booked solid thru May and only have a handfull of days left in June, But the rest of the summer it just gets better. But if you want to come now please let me know and I will be sure that you get with one of the guides that works with me ,so that you will have a great trip. I work with a couple of guides on a daily basics and make sure they are on fish. I would not put you with someone that does not fish this lake every day and knows what the fish are doing.

Took out Raymond and Candy today. The weather was nice and I got to go main lake today. It took our third spot we tryed before we found them aqand we found a mother load of good ones. Their were a few around 5 to 6 pounds but most of them were around eight pounds with the biggest a 9 lb 9 oz monster . These fish are so mean and Candy and I got ahold of a few that we did not stop. We boated about 35 fish today and 15 of them were over 7 pounds. We boated 5 over eight and one over 9 today as well. If you want to come fishing and you have looked at my schedule you will notice I am full for the rest of April and All of May I have a few openings in June but not many. Please still contact me or call because I have a couple of good guides that are taking some trips for me and you will not be disapointed in them. I would not put you with them if they were not good.

Took out Sheretta and Lawson . Lawson is the son of Tommy at Falcon Lake Tackle. He had a couple of hours today before he had to go and help out at the tournament. I knew the wind was going to get nasty but I had some fish down south that I could hit and get him into some good action since it had been a while since he had fished. the only problem with that is I got there early only to find it occupied. So we had to beat it back north to another spot only to find it occupied as well ( I am guideing to much both places were clients I had fished before , go figure.) We were running out of time and the wind was getting nasty so I just hit a point and we caught several including a nice fish by miss Sheretta. If you have not heard it took nearly 30 pounds in three to win the Falcon Tackle Blast. I think there were 3 sacks over 29 pounds caught and it took 22 to get a check. Tim Griffin won as he does most of the time the Texas Five tournament with five going a little over 42 pounds.

Took out Jason and his Dad today I knew the wind was going to pick up mid morning so we went main lake early. We did not really get on them like I have the last couple of trips but we did ok. I caught two heavy 6 pounders and Dad caught a 7 lb 9 oz early. We caught several more but small. The wind came up and so we got protected and I lost a real nice fish about 9 poundes. Jason finally conected on a nice 7 pounder late in the day. I finally shot a new video on April 13 , three days ago. It is great and will be on this site next week, but if you want to see it , go to Youtube and type in the search Falcon lake bass Jonny & Jack you can view it now.
