Took out David today getting him ready for an upcoming tournament. The first spot was a gold mine and we made about ten cast on it and quit a four fish a 10 lb and 8 lb and two heavy 6 pounders. David said he wanted to leave it alone so we did, I think he was convinced. Like I said earlier that I was going to try the shallow water bite and so we moved up in a flat about 5 foot deep and David caught four more fish all about 5 to 6 pounds on a spinner bait. Well after that it had started to warm up so we moved to a creek edge and started flipping and you guessed it we whacked some more fish in the 6 to 7 pound range doing that. I lost two fish that we saw in the thick stuff one about 7 pounds and another one in th 10 pound range. I did get ahold of one that swam out of the bush and I could not turn her so I do not know how big she was but I flipped back in the same bush and caught a male that went about 6 pounds. We came in early as David had seen enough.

Sunday, January 30th, 2011Well as much as I hated to I had to take the day off. I came down with something a few days ago and tried to work threw it but It finally got to me. I am not over it but I will be out tomorrow anyway. The lake temp is really good and the fish are really making a move up but I bet this cold snap that is coming will knock them back again. That is the thing about Falcon this time of year. I have a few friends that have done pretty good shallow the last few days. I personally have stayed a little deeper getting the bigger bite, but yesterday was the slowest I have been in a while deep which I suspect alot of the fish made a big move up. I am going to fish a little more shallow water tomorrow and see, I will let you know how that goes.

Saturday, January 29th, 2011Took out Sonny and his wife Susan today. The best way to describe today is that I sucked today. We knew the wind was going to blow so I started in some protected water and we were getting bit but not putting them in the boat. Sonny had new braid on #65 pound and twice he broke it on the hook set. I did get Susan on a nice fish an 8 lb 4 oz and on her next cast on the same spot she lost a big one. Other than me getting a 7 pounder to the top of a tree we did not get a big bite the rest of the day. We caught about 20 to 25 fish today.

Friday, January 28th, 2011Took out Charlie and his son Keagon today. We did not start out with a bang but Keagon got a 7 lb 12 oz his personal best early. I had a 6 lb 9 oz to go with that one and that would be the only two that we had to weigh. We caught about 30 fish today and had several in the 4 to 5 pound range. It was a little slower bite than yesterday but we did have our chances. The best chance was one that Keagon had on and had her to the top of the water for all of us to watch her Serge back down and snap him off. This fish was a heart breaker she was long and wide.

Thursday, January 27th, 2011Took out Ron and Dustin today. Ron has fished with me a couple of times but this was the first time Dustin has ever been to Falcon. I think it ruined him forever. Dustin was on a roll. He got his personal best today as well a 9 lb 6 oz toad. The first and the last picture is that fish. I kinda figured out something late in the day yesterday and it just dialed me in on what we did today. We had a good sack today 37 lb 6 oz in five but we should have had 45 pounds that we lost. Ron was throwing 20 lb test today and it was not enough. Ron did finally land a few but Dustin had four out of the best five I had one that went 7 lb 13 oz. We boated 30 something fish today and lost about 20 more.

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011Took out Tim and Bruce today they drove in from Lubbock and are driving back tonight (ouch) That is 18 hours round trip for one day. We headed out early and it was cold. The bite was slow but we did get bit we just had to work at it. I covered a ton of water today as we found that we could get some good bites as soon as we pulled up on a spot and then it was over. So if that was the way it was going to be we just fished a hell of a lot of spots and ended up with a fair day catching about 30 fish and Tim got his personal best a 8 lb 11 oz. I caught a 8 lb 2 oz on the same spot ,but Tim and I both lost a big fish there before we landed these two. Bruce caught one about 5 pounds on it as well and then like everywhere else today it was over.

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011Sorry about no post the last couple of days. I had to make a quick trip to Abilene for my mothers 80th birthday party. I will be back out tommorow. The Lake has really been holding steady if not inching up a little the last week. We sit at 299.47 I hope that they do that for the spawn that is taking place. The valley is dry so I expect that they will start releasing water though. The fishing when I left Sat as you can see by my 21st report remains excellent. If you tried to contact me the last few days and I did not respond please do so again, I have not had access to my computer. I did try to answer a few from my phone but I had a bunch and probably did not get to all of them. I have got several things to do and if I get them done I might slip out for an hour or two, but I have a trip tomorrow and will give a full fishing report later.

Friday, January 21st, 2011Took out Mark and Charlie I had them before Christmas break and they came for some more of Falcon. We got off to a great start on the first spot. I lost a 9 or 10 pounder on my first cast. She jumped out of the water and spit the hook. That did not mater as Charlie and I hammered some solid fish with Charlie had a 7 lb 13 oz and a 6 lb 13 oz. Mark could not get bit and Charlie and I were connecting on almost every cast. After that spot slowed down we made a move South and this sopt was not a heavy action as our first but Mark finally got on the board. I left and went more south and our third spot was crazy for about 30 to 40 min we just hammered them Mark was catching up. The day was warming up so we continued our South bound journey and The next spot we culled a couple of fish with a 6 lb 9 oz and a 7 lb 5 oz. We ended up catching 44 fish today and we only had five that were under 4 pounds most were over 5 pounds.

Thursday, January 20th, 2011Well the record is official I got my certificates and as you can see I already have them on the wall. I had a wind check today so I am not fishing and probably glad he decided not to go. The north wind will be 35 mph today and for you that know Falcon it gets nasty. The replica of the record is ready and Fishscale taxidermy did the work and it is great. I will put a picture of this at the bottom of this report. Can you believe I caught her on the 7th and they had her done by the 18th. The fishing has remained great even with the cold weather we had last week. Time to get down here. I ordered my new boat and I have my boat for sale. This boat is in great shape and the new owner will still have 3 years of warranty. 2007 21X3 with 225 Pro X good units with structure scan. This boat is a 2007 but is only 22 month old. $32,000 will take her and to sweeten the deal 10 full day guides trips come with her to the one that buys her. Besides this boat is probably the only one that has had a 13 lb and a 15.63 lb caught out of it on the same day LOL. If interested call me 325-439-6045

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011As I said yesterday that I was going to take Johnny for a bigger bite today. We only had a half day because he had to catch a plane. I knew the wind was going to get up mid morning so I ran south to hit a spot and fish it till the wind blew us off it. We caught 10 fish off it and Johnny got his personal best a 8 lb 15 oz pig. The picture is of both sides of his fish. She was perfect not a mark on here except a black birthmark. He also caught two 6 pounders and a 5 pounder and I caught a 7 pounder. We came in early and had lunch before he was off to the airport.
