Took out Shane today the leader of the pack of ten people five guides are going to take out. I told Shane that I was not going to fish anything that I knew had fish on it today that I was going to do some much need scouting. We went way south and went al the way to the back of the Salinas. We did catch some here and there but could not land the bigger fish that we had on as they were holding real tight in the cover due to calm winds and bluebird skies. I told Shane that I would give in and let him catch a colple of my pets on the way in. I pulled up and he fired a cast in the direction I told him to throw and wham a 8 lb jumped all over it. I weighted and took a picture and lined him up again he hit the spot and wham a 7 lb and that is all I let him throw on it two times two fish 15 pounds. That is Falcon for you. Update: There was a shooting on the lake about 2:30 . Word is a man and his wife was on a jet skee up by the old church and two boat chased them and started shooting at them and the Man was shot and his wife made it back to the US. The body has not been recovered and he is suspected to be dead. I do not know the full detailes yet but soon as I do I will let you know. This is not good , but from what I have heard there is alot more to this.

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010Took out Mike and Jerry today, They have become two or my regulars, as they have been several times this year. I had not fished them since the lake came up. We had always been in the high thirties and low forties for our best five on their prev trips. I told them that Falcon was a little tougher but if we covered alot of water we should do well. It started out with a bang as our first stop produced some nice fish in the six pound range. We caught several. The next stop in the Tigers did not do as well so I made an adjustment and we got on them again. We had some brutes on and finally landed a couple including the brutt that Mike is holding. 9 lb 2 oz. Do not pass up on this rod deal I have going right now. 30% off any rod orders. Just click on the RPM Custom Rods link at the bottom of the Home page pick your rods out and type in the price code box TLTX and take advantage of this great deal on the best rod you can own for these big fish on Falcon Lake.

Saturday, September 25th, 2010Took out Doug and Joey today the other half from yesterday. We put in and headed to the Tigers as I have not been there in a couple of weeks. This was a good move as we were on big fish from the start. the only thing about that is that we had to leave because of a big rain storm and go all the way over into Mexico and back to the dam on the Tx side to get around it. We did not go back to the Tigers as we put the same pattern to work and caught some more big fish down there. All of our big fish with the exception of two came deeper than they had been for awhile. Our best big fish bite was in 20 to 22 foot of water. We only boated 19 fish today but we had a hell of a stringer, as follows. 8 lb 13 oz, 8 lb 9 oz, 8 lb 0 oz, 7 lb 9 oz, and 6 lb 12 oz. We culled several 6 pounders. All of these big fish were caught Tx rigged soft plastics and we all were using RPM Okeechobee Flipping Pitching Special Rods. It took this rod to rip these fish in. If you want a rod for Falcon click on the RPM Custom Rods link at the bottom of the main page and Type in the price code TLTX and you will get any or all you want for 30% off. I fish Falcon almost every day and this is the only rod that I have used that will hold up to these fish. You had better get you one while the price is right.

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010I am still getting a few calls with people worried about the safety on Falcon. To tell you what I believe is that I do not think much of the reports way back in April about pirates. This story got way blown out of proportion. We all know how the media wants it to sound. I even did a interview with Fox News and it is crazy how they took out what they wanted in a hour interview on the water and made it sound dangerous. I will be the first to tell you that illegals and drug do come across this lake as they do on any boarder, but do they stop and rob us ,NO NO NO this is not happening. If there was a robbery that was six months ago and I have not heard or seen anything since. I know that all of us local guides are fishing a bunch in Mexico. Back to Fishing. I have been out checking some new water the last couple of days getting ready for the trips I have lined up over the next few weeks and fill like we are going to have a good time. The fish are still fairly shallow or should I say shallow for me. 10 to 18 foot. I still am trying some 20 to 30 but no numbers or quality to speaks of. Do not miss out on the rods special we are having right now. If you want a great rod at a great price then now if the time. Go to WWW.RPMcustomrods.com and choose the rod you want and their is a price code , type in TLTX and it will discount the rod to wholesale price. The Okeechobee flipping pitching special is the one for Falcon. it comes in several different lengths.

Monday, September 20th, 2010 Well you see what kind of look I got when I ask Buster if he wanted to go fishing today. I could not talk Buster in to going but I did talk Jimbo in to going. We put in at the county and headed South. We did good as we were getting our butts soaked. Biggest today was a 7 lb 12 oz I did not get the camera out today because it was pouring on us almost the whole time. We quit a little after lunch and had boated about 25 fish. Most were on the smaller sise but we did catch five nice fish. Buster new better than to get out there today. Just got off the phone with Rick Morris and If you want a good rod now is the time to get one. If you have fished with me you know I use a 7′ 9″ Okeechee Flipping/pitching special. Saturday, September 11th, 2010 Took Sheretta out today. We got off to a late start so we skiped the shallow bite and went deep to start with. I am still looking for that large consintration of big deep fish. Sheretta did catch a nice one in about 18 foot. This fish was perfict and not a scratch or blimish on her. She looked full of eggs as well. I don not think these fish ever quit spawing year around. The other picture is just a pretty sunset on Falcon.

Friday, September 10th, 2010 Well I am off today I am taking Colten to the airport to go back to Abilene. Today is his 20th birthday and I really have enjoyed him staying with us for the last month. Pictured above is just a few of the good fish Colten caught while he was here. I was really busy with guide trips so we only got to go a few time ,but when we did he whacked them. You can see in him that he knows how to fish as I had him fishing with me when he was only five. Man the times fly. The lake seems to be holding steady at 304.35 and I look for it to drop a little. The fish are really not using the deep stuff yet but they will very soon. I have been catching most all my fish on soft plastics, but a few have started to attack the buzzbait early. I did go out for a couple of hours yesterday and the wind was 20 to 25 so I stayed in the Veleno and went way back just to check out some water in the very back. I saw a bunch of fish swimming around in the clear shallow water, but the big fish are not there. I did not get in there very early in fact it was about noon, I plan on trying the buzzbait early in there the next time I go out. I will let you know how it goes.

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010 Out with Hank and his son Jason again today. Since we went south yesterday we went north today. Fished the Salado and the river all day. We did not have the day we had yesterday, but we still did respectifull. Our best five went right at 30 pounds with a 7 lb 2 oz the biggest. We just fished point after point after point and we would catch 1 to 4 on every one of them. The fluke did the best today and what was differant we could not get them to eat it yesterday. The lake is still comming up and as long as it is doing this the fish are going to be scattered. As soon as it starts dropping they should group up again. We boated about 20 fish today.
