Took out Bob and Don today and man was it a pretty day. We put in at the State Park and went to the Salinas. This is the first time I had been in there sence Sept of last year. Nothing has changed there are still some monster bass in that cove even though it was pounded this spring. We had two tip the scales at 10 pounds and another 6 pluss to go with them. We fished from one end to the other not catching more than one of two on each spot. This is the last day of April and May is here my most favorite Month on Falcon Lake. I have the same group tommorow and I do not know if it will be Bob,Don,Lee or Carl but we plan on having fun.

Thursday, April 29th, 2010Took out Carl and Lee today for one of the three days they are to fish with me. I told them that we were going to get the worst day over with first. the wind was predicted to blow and the weather man did not get it wrong today. It was rough out there today. We did grind it out though and ended up with a fair day catching 23 fish with two over seven and a six mixed in with some 3 and 4 pounders. They missed some fish today as it was a little tough feeling the bite.

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010Took out Derrick for a Falcon Lake Guide Trip today. We started out a little slow and ended with a bang. We finally got on a good bite as the fish were not active today. I did not see much feeding going on during the day like I have been. I finally moved out deep and that is where we started whacking some good quality fish. All our fish came on soft plastics tex rigged in 18 to 27 foot.

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010I had the day off so I called up Dan to see if he wanted to go out with me. Last week I installed a new Lowrance structure scan on my boat and this was a chance for me to go out and just look at some new water and find some more fish. We put in at the State Park and within thirty min I saw something interisting on the Scan and we decided to check it out. Wow We caught a 6 pounder , a 8 pounder and this monster that Dan caught a 10 lb 11 oz. I decided right then that I had not wasted my money. We left these fish and went in more search for some other stuff. We caught good fish everywhere that we went. I know this lake like the back of my hand , but this is like looking at it with a microscope.

Saturday, April 24th, 2010Well I took out Mark and Hollis again today expecting some tough north wind. the good thing is that the weather man missed it and this time it was better than expected. Today was one of them grind it out days. We ended up catching 25 fish today down from the 40 we caught yesterday. Hollis got him a nice one a 6 lb 7 oz and Mark got a 5 pounder. Most of our fish we on the 2 to 4 pound class. We caught fish on crankbaits and soft plastics tex rigged. The lake was real busy today I think there were several tournaments going on. I did not see many people catching fish but when I did they put them in the livewell. I hope this was the case, because there has been alot of fish killing this year and if it does not stop we are in for some tough times on Falcon. If you do not beleive so look at Choke or Amistad.

Friday, April 23rd, 2010Took out Mark and Hollis today and today it was really hot and calm. We started in Mexico and caught several to get the day started. After we had a good warm up I went to some deeper spots and we started catching some good solid fish from 4 to 6 and a half pounds. Mark had the best, a nice 6 lb 9 oz for his personal best. The look on Hollis’s face says it all, as you can tell he had a blast and that to me is what this is all about.

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010Took out Charlie and Chris on a Falcon Lake Guide Trip today. Falcon Lake was a windy B today. We decided to go south and put in and fish the very South end of the lake and try to stay out of the wind. this turned out to be a good choice as we caught over 40 fish today and had some really good quality. We did not land any monsters today but we did have two heavy sevens and a butt load of 4,5,and 6’s. We had a good double, a 7lb 3 oz and a 6 lb 2 oz. Charlie is pictured with a 7 lb 8 oz and Chris had three fish bigger than the 6 lb 2 oz pictured in the double I just thought the double picture was better. All our fish off of soft plastics Tex rigged.

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010Took out Mike and George for the past two day. We really had good numbers both days catchaing 47 fish the first day with our best five a respectable 32 pounds. Today we caught 35 and had some bigger ones. Including this eight and a 10 lb 4 oz beast. After we weighted her and let her go George on his nest cast got ahold of another giant and fought her all the way to the boat and see came out of the water about 10 feet away and spit the hook. she was a hell of alot bigger than the Ten that we had just caught. Well the big ones always seem to get away. I am a pretty good judge about fish and We had just landed a 10 lb 4 oz to compare her to. this fish was over 12 pounds I just do not know how much over. That is what keeps Mike and his friends comming back.

Sunday, April 18th, 2010Out with Joe and Bill again today. the wind was forcast to be 10 mph out of the north, it was out of the north alright but about 20 mph. We toughed it anyway and went South. The morning was a little slow but we did catch a few including Bills best a 6 pounder and I had one over 7 pounds. At noon we took all we could take and I crossed Falcon and went into Mexico It was rough going but it really paid off. We got on some good fish including Joes personal best a 9 lb 6 oz pig. I caught a couple more in the six pound range and Bill just wore out the 4 pounders. All our fish came in 12 to 15 foot on soft plastics, Texas rigged. Falcon Lake is really catching alot of water I bet we have came up a foot sence yesterday and man I thinks we are going to come up a bunch more.

Saturday, April 17th, 2010Back on the water after a couple of days off.I took out Joe and Bill today for a Falcon Lake guide trip. Falcon was finally calm and nice today for a change. We headed south not stopping until we were in the little tigers. Our first stop we did ok on catching several and one over seven and another about 6 pounds. We really fish all over the lake on the south end today because the weather let us. We caught fish almost everywhere we went. We had a good day with three fish over seven boated and two more in the six pound range for our best five. We caught several fish on the crank bait and most on the fluke or dinger.
