As I said I would give a report today after being on the water. Not much has changed as I will not disclose where because of the tournament but I caught a good sack today. I did not catch them in one spot as I was just checking, I had for best five 33 pounds. I will tell you I did catch them deep 22 to 32 foot.

Christmas 010 I am finally back from Christmas and I enjoyed seeing the kids and grand kids. What I did not like was the bone chilling weather we had while we were in Abilene. I plan on hitting the water early in the morning to get back in touch with the fish as I have a bunch of trips comming up. I know we have a full moon but I do n ot know if we have the water temp to go along with it far as the spawn is concerned. I will give a full report on what Happens tommorow.

Dec 20 003 Took out Jeff and his son Payton today. I just love it when I get to take out A father and son. Payton had never been fish before so this was going to be a quick lesson on how to catch these mean fish on Falcon. We stopped short of our first stop so he could get used to casting, and then we moved in for the kill. Jeff got bit first thing and it was a big fish, he did good on getting the fish to the boat but he learned how hard they fight at the boat and as she was flopping all over by the boat she surged back dpwn and broke him off. Payton got two fish on but did not drive the hook home. I put his rod up and handed him mine and from then on he did great landing several. We caught only 23 today but had some good ones and Payton and I even had a double. Jeff finally got to going but he broke another good fish off but we never got to see her. I leave tommorow to spend some time with my kids for Christmas, but I will have my PC with me and will keep you posted on what is going on. I want to thank everybody for the support this year as I have really enjoyed fish with so many great people this year. Merry Christmas

Took out Richard today. He got hung up in Larado trafic, so we got off on a late start. Richard is going to be here for two weeks so he wanted me to show him the lower end of the lake since he will be staying at the state park. It seemed that we would pull up on a spot and our first cast or so get a fish or two one place we caught 5 in just a few cast ,and than they would stop. I guess this was good for Richard because I got to show him a bunch of spots. We caught 20 to 25 with 6 over 5 lbs and one that touched 7 pounds but I bet we fished 20 spots. The water temp for the most was 57 to 60 .

Dec 14 002 Took out Dean today for another good time on falcon. I had Dean Monday and we really caught them, about 60. Today started out with a bang as we started at 9 am and by 10:30 we had boated 18, 7 off the first spot and 11 off the next spot and all of them were 4 to 6 pounds. We moved off the spots fairley quick as the agenda today was for me to show Dean some more spots since he plans to be here for a month or two. We did not fish a single spot that we pounded them on Monday. the fish today seemed to be up a little shallower than Monday. We caught 32 fish today with most comming out of 14 to 21 foot unlike Monday where we caught them in 21 to 35 foot.

Dec 14 004 Took out Dean today. I drove down to the Tigers and put in and we got on the water at 9 am and the fog was thick. Dean wanted to learn more about the Tiger area so that is where we stayed all day. It started out fairly good as we caught 9 on our first stop with two of them over 6 pounds. We used that pattern the rest of the day and by 1 pm we really dialed it in and started whacking some really quality fish. Or biggest for the day was a little over seven, but we caught a ton of 5 and 6 pounders. All our fish came 22 to 30 foot deep on soft plastics. I bet we caught at least 60 today.

I did not have a trip today so I went out looking for some more fish. It was cloudy and cool all day. Water temp ranged from 58 to 61 for the most part. I went South staying on the Mex side almost all day. The fish were not real active as I only caught a few here and there. About 3 pm I hit a spot and in about ten to fifteen min I had 33 pounds. That is Falcon for ya. The hot spot was in 30 plus water, so do not be afraid to try deep right now.

1232 December is on us and this is usually when the fish start up the river. Dan and I did not have a trip yesterday so we went out to do a little scouting up the river , way up . We did alot more looking at water temp and levels off the river in some flats to see if the fish had moved up. For the most part they have not, but then we checked some staging areas and found a few there. From all my years on Falcon I know that these fish just set and wait for the warm days and when you get a few in a row ,boom they are there. Last year in December I stayed deep when it was cloudy and cold as in the picture and we hammered them ,staged in front of the trditional spawning flats, and when it got hot we moved up right with them. Be versitile, this time of year and it will pay off.
